OVERVIEW
SUPPORT ASSOCIATION for FIBROID AWARENESS (SAFA) is a not-for-profit enterprise (foundation) COMMITED to raising awareness of fibroids, improving women’s health, providing help, counseling and support for women living with fibroids in Nigeria and Africa at large.
The foundation is positioned as a global standard advocacy group for engaging, educating, empowering and effecting change regarding fibroid support plus improved treatment options in Nigeria and by extension the West African region.
Through our initiatives, we emphasize the critical importance of early diagnosis and effective intervention while simultaneously providing education to the community of medical professionals, their patients, and the general public.
The core of our mission will be to improve the lives of persons affected by fibroids and work towards a future where it has the least possible impact on those living with the condition.
OUR GOALS
Create a welcoming platform where women with fibroids can openly share their journeys, and receive support. This shared understanding can alleviate anxiety, reduce isolation, and foster a sense of empowerment and hope.
Go beyond mere support. Encourage women to advocate for themselves and speak up about fibroids, raising awareness and challenging stigmas.
Campaign for increased research funding towards understanding the causes, early detection, and development of more effective and less invasive treatment options for fibroids.
